Requirement for CS Majors & Minors: Spring Structured Study Sessions (S^4)
Do you want to Major or Minor in CS? Then you need S^4!
To register in CS110, Problem Solving with Data Structures and Algorithms, it is required to pass PR51, also known as S^4, the Spring Structured Study Sessions. These sessions are designed to help students prepare for upper-division courses in computer science, covering fundamental CS topics such as OOP, variable scope and mutability, binary, and more. Depending on your background, you may or may not have encountered these topics before, so we want to help bridge the gap and ensure you enter the CS Cores with confidence.
There are two options for passing:
1. Pass a technical interview (typically held the first week of the Spring semester), or
2. Successfully complete weekly sessions during the Spring semester, and pass the technical interview at the end.
Fill out this form by Monday, December 15, 11:00 pm PST to sign up for S^4.
You can find more info about S^4 at the bottom of this myMinerva page. Please read this carefully before submitting the form.
